Hi there, and thank you for visiting.
I’m so glad you’re here. Act on Purpose is a reflection of the journey I’ve lived, the systems I’ve worked in, and the change I believe is possible. My passion for this work comes from real experience navigating trauma, poverty, caregiving, leadership, and advocacy. I hold the deep belief that our stories, when honored, can lead to powerful transformation.
Whether you’re here out of curiosity, connection, or with a specific goal in mind, I hope something in this space speaks to you. I’m committed to creating practical, thoughtful, and people-centered tools that help others lead with intention and equity.
Thanks for being here, truly.

Bio
Sarah Ellefson is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of STAR House, the only crisis nursery currently accessible to families in Ramsey County. With a degree in Childcare Administration and Advocacy, she brings a powerful blend of professional training, leadership experience, and deeply personal insight to her work.
Raised in instability and shaped by early trauma, Sarah Ellefson has been both a recipient of services and a front-line provider. She’s worked hands-on in direct care, led teams, and built programs that reflect what real families actually need, because she’s been one of them.
Her work is rooted in equity, healing, and community voice. Whether supporting caregivers, developing trauma-informed policy, or training professionals, her mission is clear: empower adults to recognize their impact, take action, and create safer, more responsive systems for children.
Today, she uses her lived experience as a tool for connection and change, believing that the people closest to the problem are also closest to the solution.
